PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Reporting to the Supervisor Water Distribution and Supervisor Water Services, the position involves assisting with record keeping and non-licensed activities related to the maintenance of a Level III Water Distribution System, Facility Maintenance, and Quench Buggy operation at Special Events (including weekends).

EDUCATION/SPECIALIZED TRAINING/SKILLS:

Essential (minimum) Qualifications:

  • Completed 1 Year Post Secondary and returning to Post Secondary program in September
  • Class ‘G’ Driver’s License

Asset (preferred) Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in Post-Secondary education in a related discipline.
  • WD or WT OIT certificate.
  • Class ‘D’ or DZ’ Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of provincial Safe Drinking Water Act and Associated Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure and Construction Practices.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and WHMIS training.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with GIS.
  • Ability to complete tasks involving heavy pushing, pulling, and lifting on a regular basis; work in an uncontrolled environment / conditions; work in a construction environment, i.e. traffic, uneven ground; recognize hazards and be able to assist in mitigating and controlling hazards.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (at least 50 lbs.).

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Asset (preferred) Qualifications:

  • General construction experience.
  • General facility / property maintenance experience. 
  • Hand and power tool use.

SUMMER DAY CAMP - HELPERS, TEMPORARY

As a member of the RCCS Department, this staff person will assist the Camp Leaders to provide safe supervision, organize and implement games and activities for children ages 3 to 14 years, allowing the participants to express themselves and socialize in a creative, fun-filled atmosphere. 

Qualifications:

  • This student position is for High School Students between the ages of 15-17 years
  • Hold a current Emergency or Standard First Aid and C.P.R. certification
  • High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development certification is an asset
  • Previous experience working with children

We offer a variety of camps for various ages and interests. Please clearly specify your skills and abilities and your choice of camp(s).

  • Kinder Camp (additional qualifications required)

Kinder Camp: Early Childhood Education graduate is required.

As a member of the RCCS Department, this position will assist the Summer Day Camp Coordinator with the development, coordination and implementation of staff training and the daily activities for the City of Belleville's summer camp programs. They will assist in the preparation of schedules and supervising summer Day Camps and Camp Staff (both on-site and off-site).

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years/seasons experience as a Senior Program Leader or similar experience with programming for children between the ages of 3-16
  • College or University student (child related field of study is an asset).
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Hold a current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. Certification.
  • Hold the High Five - Healthy Child Development certificate.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required.

  • Two (2) years/seasons experience as a Senior Program Leader or similar experience with programming for children
  • Staff supervisory experience of at least one year/season
  • College or University student or graduate (child related field of study is an asset)
  • Hold a current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. Certification
  • Hold the High Five - Healthy Child Development certificate
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required
