The Fire Department is responsible for firefighting, investigation, inspection and prevention services for the City of Belleville and for enforcing statutory policies and regulations as they relate to the Municipality. It is a Composite Department of 103 personnel, providing both urban and rural services from four stations:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- fire prevention, education and service programs
- fire code enforcement
- life safety inspections
- fire engineering plans review
- fire suppression
- rescue services
- emergency defibrillation and medical assist services
- fire investigations

Street sweeping began at the beginning of April and due to mechanical breakdowns with one of the sweepers the schedule has not progressed as quickly as anticipated. The sweeper is being repaired and once this is done it will be back in action with the other equipment. We apologize for any inconvenience and assure you the street cleaning will be completed as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.
