The City of Belleville has officially launched its new municipal website, designed to make it easier for residents, businesses and visitors to access information, services and programs online.

The new website features a refreshed design, improved navigation and enhanced accessibility tools to create a more user-friendly and inclusive online experience. The project has involved collaboration across multiple City departments over several months to modernize and streamline how information is presented and accessed.

One of the most significant updates is the integration of the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre website into the City’s main website. Recreation and programming information previously found on QSWC.ca can now be accessed directly through the City’s website, creating a more seamless experience for users while simplifying access to municipal services. Existing QSWC.ca links will automatically redirect to the new website.

The website’s navigation and site structure were also redesigned following a comprehensive site map review and navigation audit conducted using website best practices. The updated structure focuses on how residents and users search for information, helping visitors more easily find the services and resources they need.

As part of the project, City staff completed a full review of website content to ensure information is clear, concise and up to date. Formatting across the site was standardized to improve consistency and accessibility.

The new website also introduces several accessibility improvements. Important documents and content, including by-laws, are now available in accessible formats such as HTML pages and remediated PDFs. In addition, a new accessibility tool called Page Assist has been added to the site, allowing users to customize their browsing experience with features such as font size adjustments, colour and contrast controls and other accessibility settings.

“Our goal with this new website was to create a more accessible, user-focused and modern experience for everyone who interacts with the City online,” said Sarah Tummon-Button, Manager of Mayor and Council Services & Communications. “Whether residents are looking for recreation programs, municipal services, Council information or community updates, this new platform makes it easier to find what they need.”

Residents are encouraged to explore the new website and familiarize themselves with its updated features and navigation.
