City Invites Public Input on Cannifton/Corbyville Planning Area Strategy

The City of Belleville is inviting residents, businesses and other interested community members to attend the first public engagement event for the Cannifton/Corbyville Planning Area Strategy on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Signal, 86 River Rd., Corbyville.

The City is developing the strategy to help guide future growth and development in Cannifton and Corbyville Village, as well as the nearby Northeast Industrial Park. These areas are expected to experience significant growth in the coming years, creating a need for a more coordinated approach to land use, infrastructure and economic development.

The drop-in, open-house event will provide an opportunity to learn about the work completed to date and help shape the vision and strategic directions for the study area. Informational panels and interactive activities will be available, and project team members will be on hand to answer questions. Feedback received will also help inform the preliminary land-use concept.

Materials from the event will be posted to the project webpage afterward, with a public comment period running from Sept. 10 to Oct. 8. Comments can also be submitted to the City’s Planning Section at planning@belleville.ca or 613-967-3200, ext. 3234.

For more information about the project and to view a map of the study area, visit Cannifton/Corbyville Planning Strategy | City of Belleville.
