Community Trees Seedling Giveaway

The Community Trees bare-root seedling giveaway is back on May 2 in Market Square behind City Hall (169 Front St.) starting at 9 a.m. Residents can select from a variety of native tree and shrub species including:

• American elderberry 
• Winterberry 
• Shadblow serviceberry 
• Fragrant sumac
• Black cherry
• Balsam Poplar
• Bur Oak
• Red Maple
• Sycamore
• Tulip Tree
• Tamarack
• Silver maple
• Red pine
• White spruce
• American mountain ash
• Pin oak
• Pussy willow
• White cedar
• Paper birch
• Sugar maple

As these seedlings are in limited quantities, residents may pick up to five seedlings per household and no more than three of the same species. The event will run as long as quantities last however, supplies are expected to go quickly so residents are encouraged to get there early.
