Help Shape the Future of Tourism in Belleville

The City of Belleville is developing an action-oriented Destination Development Plan in partnership with Bannikin, an Ontario-based tourism consultancy, that will proactively guide tourism work in the city over the next five years.

The strategy development process will involve widespread community engagement with residents, tourism businesses, partner organizations and other interest groups. The project launched in late-August 2026 and is expected to conclude in late-March 2027.

As Belleville looks toward the future, the City wants to better understand how tourism is experienced today, where opportunities exist, what gaps should be addressed, how private sector product development can be supported and what priorities should guide future tourism development.

As part of this work, the City of Belleville is conducting a Community Tourism Survey for residents, visitors and tourism industry members. Participants will be asked questions relevant to their relationship with Belleville.

The online questionnaire takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and will be open from Oct. 7 to 28. Respondents will be entered into a draw to win a $200 gift certificate for Marlin Travel when they complete the survey.

This project was funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Rural Affairs.
