HPE Ontario Health Team Helping People Connect with Family Doctors Through Community Event

The Hastings Prince Edward Ontario Health Team (HPEOHT) is helping people connect with a local family doctor or nurse practitioner through their event on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Belleville’s Market Square.

The booth, to be located at the stairs behind City Hall in Market Square, will provide information about HPEOHT’s role in our community and how they can help connect residents to a local family doctor or nurse practitioner.

“Belleville has several new doctors now taking residents as patients in our community,” said Karen Poste, Manager of Physician Recruitment and Retention. “The quickest way to be connected to one of these doctors is to register with Health Care Connect, which the HPEOHT will be demonstrating on Oct. 17.”

During the event, HPEOHT staff will assist residents with signing up for Health Care Connect, the centralized registry that matches residents without a regular doctor or nurse practitioner to available primary care providers in their community.
