Nominate a Local Environmental Champion for the 2026 Environmental Stewardship Awards

The City of Belleville is inviting residents to help recognize local environmental champions by submitting nominations for the 2026 Environmental Stewardship Awards.

Nominations are now open and will be accepted until July 14 at 4 p.m. The awards celebrate individuals, groups, organizations and businesses that have demonstrated leadership and commitment to environmental stewardship in the community.

Eligible nominees may be recognized for contributions in areas including built environment, environmental policies, education, naturalized landscaping with native plants and trees, recycling and organic composting, renewable energy, and wildlife protection and conservation.

"Belleville is fortunate to have residents and organizations committed to protecting and enhancing our environment," said Councillor Enright-Miller, board chair of the Green Task Force. "These awards provide an opportunity to celebrate their efforts and recognize the positive impact they have on our community."

Residents may submit nominations for one or more candidates. Supporting materials such as letters of support, testimonials, photographs and other documentation may also be included.

To nominate an individual, group, organization or business, complete the online nomination form by July 14.

Recipients will be selected by the Environmental Stewardship Awards Selection Committee.

Successful nominees will be recognized at a presentation ceremony.
