Work to Begin on the Upper Front Street Bridge Rehabilitation

The City of Belleville has contracted Urbanlink Civil Ltd. to complete the rehabilitation of the Upper Front Street Bridge.

Construction is scheduled to begin this month, July 2026, and is expected to be completed by winter 2027.

The project includes structural repairs to the bridge, replacement of key bridge components, waterproofing, roadway paving, utility work and other improvements to help extend the life of the structure.

During construction, the Upper Front Street Bridge will remain fully closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Signed detours will be in place throughout the project.

Residents and businesses will be notified in advance of any additional traffic disruptions required to complete the work. Appropriate signage will be maintained at all times to help guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the area.
