City seeking public feedback as part of Traffic By-law Review

The City of Belleville is inviting residents to share their feedback as part of a review of the City's Traffic By-law.

The review aims to modernize the by-law by updating language, improving clarity and ensuring alignment with current provincial legislation and municipal best practices. As part of the review, the City is also examining several parking-related regulations and is seeking community input on potential changes.

Residents are encouraged to complete a short online survey and provide feedback on several parking requirements currently outlined in the Traffic By-law, including:

  • Overnight parking restrictions on curbed and non-curbed streets
  • Parking on driveway aprons and boulevards
  • Seasonal parking restrictions related to winter maintenance operations
  • Maximum parking durations on residential streets
  • Other parking regulations intended to support road safety, accessibility and municipal operations

"Traffic and parking regulations play an important role in helping to keep our roads safe, accessible and efficient for everyone," said Aggie Hill, Manager of By-law Enforcement for the City of Belleville. "While much of this review focuses on updating language and aligning the by-law with current legislation, resident feedback will help us evaluate potential changes to parking regulations and ensure they continue to meet the needs of our community."

Residents can complete the survey online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P2RC5Q7

Additional information about the review, including the current Traffic By-law and background information on the project, is available on the City's Traffic By-law Review webpage.

The survey will remain open until July 27. Feedback received will help inform recommendations that will be presented to Belleville City Council for consideration.
