All our parks are closed to unauthorized vehicles and equipment. In special situations, you may need to obtain access to your property through one of our parks or public spaces. Please submit an application to obtain this access.
How to apply for park access
- Complete the Park Access form a minimum of 14 days prior to when access is required. There is a refundable $500.00 deposit that must be paid upon access approval. A higher deposit may be requested in a case of extreme potential damage.
- A staff member will contact you and establish whether a site meeting is required.
- At the site meeting, we will require verification of processes and equipment. The refundable deposit must be paid at this time. In some cases, proof of permissions from utilities or pipeline authorities may be required.
- A staff member will take photographs of the before condition of the site. The staff member will explain the expectations and prohibitions of the permit and ensure the safety of park patrons will be maintained.
- A staff member may visit the site periodically to ensure compliance with the permit's expectations and prohibitions.
- Once your project is completed you must contact the City to complete a site inspection and review. You must ensure the site has been returned to its original condition. Your deposit will not be returned until a satisfactory inspection has been completed.
- If there is a dispute between the original conditions (photo) and the completed condition, the General Manager of Transportation and Operations Service will determine the requirement or approval of the release of the deposit.
