City of Belleville Regular Grant
Apply for a Regular Grant Application
- This grant program provides financial assistance or waives fees for the use of municipal resources
- For not-for-profit or other organizations that promote the well-being of the community
- Applications are available 12 months out of the year
GRANT PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
The objective of grants issued by the City of Belleville is to promote the well-being of the community and the growth and/or recognition of individuals in the community through providing resources to organizations, groups and events in a fair and equitable manner.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
a) Applicants and/ or the event must be located in the City of Belleville, and promote the well-being of Belleville residents.
b) Applicants must demonstrate the need for the specific grant request. All requests must be directed to the Grant Committee of the City of Belleville using the attached application form.
c) Requests should be made well in advance of the event (at least 60 days prior) so that the request can be considered by the Grant Committee and a recommendation brought forward at a regularly scheduled Council Meeting.
d) Grant request may represent cash and/or the use of municipal resources. Municipal resources eligible for grants include:
Use of a municipally owned facility (rental fee waived/reduced)
- Municipal staff support (expertise) for an event (wages waived/reduced)
- Use of municipally owned equipment (rental fee waived/reduced)
- Use of municipally owned materials (rental fee waived/reduced
e) Grants will not be available to assist with operating expenses of an organization.
f) Grants will not be available to assist with development related waiver of fees, building permit fees, S.O.C.A.N. costs, electrical hook-up fees, security expenses
g) Individuals, political parties are not eligible for consideration under the City Grant program.
h) Organizations and/or charities whose primary focus is not within the municipality shall not be considered for a municipal grant.
i) Grant requests will be assessed by the Grant Committee and recommendations brought to Council based on:
- Availability of the requested resource
- Potential financial impact to the municipality
- Contribution to the well-being of members of the community
- Recognition of a worthwhile program/cause
- Overall community impact
- Any other criteria deemed suitable by the Grant Committee
j)No grant will be considered approved unless specifically authorized by Mayor and Council in the form of a resolution of support. Council’s decisions regarding eligibility are final.
k) Grants made by the municipality are not to be regarded as a commitment by the municipality to continue such grants in the future. Grants will be approved and issued for the current operating period. Applicants requiring funding beyond the current period will be required to re-apply on an annual basis.
l) Grants will not be available to groups that have failed to comply with any reporting requirements (if applicable) from previous grants.
m) In executing grants, the municipality may impose such conditions and/or restrictions as it deems fit.
n) The municipality reserves the right to limit the number of grants made to a particular organization in any given year.
o) Grant funds cannot be used for 'prize money", any requests of this type will be denied.

Social Infrastructure Funding Application

- Financial assistance for non-profit organizations that provide services to individuals who experience adverse social impacts due to the economy, housing, physical, family, cultural, or social exclusion, disability, or ethnic, racial, or religious factors
- 2023 Applications will be accepted from February 14, 2023 until 4:30 p.m. April 11, 2023
SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT PROGRAM
a) City of Belleville Grant Committee is accepting applications for non-profit organizations that primarily provide services to individuals who are experiencing adverse social impacts due to the economy, housing, physical, family, cultural, social exclusion, disabled, and ethnic/ racial/ religious factors.
b) Maximum Grant available is $50,000
c) Funds must be spent within one year
d) Closing Report from organization outlining measurable, tangible results/outcomes of the Grant must be provided
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
a) Applicants must be located in the City of Belleville.
b) Applicants must demonstrate the need for the specific grant request. All requests must be directed to the Grant Committee using the attached Social Infrastructure Grant application form.
c) Organizations and/or charities whose primary focus is not within the municipality shall not be considered for a municipal grant.
d) Requests for Social Infrastructure grants will be assessed by the Grant Committee and recommendations brought to Council based on:
- Availability of the requested funding
- Potential financial impact to the municipality
- Contribution to the well-being of members of the community
- Recognition of a worthwhile program/cause
- Overall community impact
- Any other criteria deemed suitable by the Grant Committee
e) No grant will be considered approved unless specifically authorized by Mayor and Council in the form of a resolution of support. Council’s decisions regarding eligibility are final.
f) Grants made by the municipality are not to be regarded as a commitment by the municipality to continue such grants in the future. Grants will be approved and issued for the current operating period. Applicants requiring funding beyond the current period will be required to re-apply on an annual basis.
g) Grants will not be available to groups that have failed to comply with any reporting requirements from previous Social Infrastructure grants - A FINAL/ CLOSING REPORT MUST BE SUBMITTED OUTLINING HOW THE PREVIOUS FUNDS WERE SPENT BEFORE APPLYING FOR ANOTHER SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT
h) In executing grants, the municipality may impose such conditions and/or restrictions as it deems fit.
i) The municipality reserves the right to limit the number of grants made to a particular organization in any given year.
j) Grant funds cannot be used for 'prize money", any requests of this type will be denied.

Arts and Culture Funding Application
Apply for an Arts & Culture Grant Application
- This grant program provides financial assistance to organizations that provide arts and culture services to the community
- 2023 Applications will be accepted from February 14, 2023 until 4:30 p.m. March 10, 2023
COMMUNITY ARTS & CULTURE FUND
a) The City of Belleville Grant Committee is accepting applications from organizations that provide arts and culture services in the community. The Belleville Community Arts & Culture Fund will provide funding to aid these organizations in their quest to nurture the quality and capacity of the arts and culture community, thereby improving the quality of life and stimulating economic development through supported investment in the City of Belleville.
b) The maximum Grant available is $5,000.
c) Funds must be spent within one year.
d) Closing Report from organization outlining measurable, tangible results/outcomes of the Grant must be provided.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES

c) Organizations whose primary focus is not within the municipality shall not be considered for a Community Arts & Culture Grant.

- Availability of the requested funding
- Potential financial impact to the municipality
- Contribution to the arts and culture environment in the community
- Overall community impact
- Any other criteria deemed suitable by the Grant Committee
e) No grant will be considered approved unless specifically authorized by Mayor and Council in the form of a resolution of support. Council’s decisions regarding eligibility are final.
f) Grants made by the municipality are not to be regarded as a commitment by the municipality to continue such grants in the future. - Community Improvement Plans (CIP) allows the City to direct funds and implement initiatives towards specific projects that encourage rehabilitation and/or development to enhance a sustainable community
