What we do
Initiatives brought forward by the Green Task Force include the Green Bin organics recycling program, the Community Gardens program, the annual tree seedling giveaway, the installation of water fountains/bottle fillers in City parks, the Let it Grow campaign to encourage habitat for pollinators, and more. The Committee also spearheaded the recommendation that Belleville City Council declare a climate emergency in Belleville to drive forward local action on climate change.
Meetings and deputations
We meet at City Hall monthly or at the call of the Chair and welcome deputations from the public.
If you would like to present an idea or proposal at a Green Task Force meeting, please arrange a deputation with our staff representative.
