Due to the significant snowfall and the weather warning issued by Environment Canada, Belleville City Hall will delay opening today until 10 a.m. (normally open at 8:30 a.m.).
In addition, the City Council meeting scheduled for 4 p.m. today has been cancelled.
The City of Belleville declared a significant weather event on Sunday, Jan. 25 under Ontario’s Minimum Maintenance Standards Regulation (Ont. 239/02) after reviewing subscribed weather reports and current conditions. Snowfall associated with this event may impact travel and municipal operations.
Residents are encouraged to use extra caution if travelling, as road, sidewalk and bike lane conditions may take longer than usual to return to normal. City staff will continue winter maintenance operations throughout the event, prioritizing safety.
