Preserving the Past: Community Archives Celebrates Significant Community Donation

The City of Belleville’s Community Services Department is pleased to announce a generous donation to the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County. In December 2025, the Archives received a $15,000 contribution from a private individual in support of its ongoing work to preserve and share the region’s history.

Archivist, Amanda Hill, expressed her appreciation for the gift, stating “We are thrilled to receive this contribution from a private donor. We have recently been investing in enhanced digital storage to support our expanding digitization program, and this funding will directly support that important work.”

The Community Archives, supported by the City of Belleville and the County of Hastings and operated through the City’s Community Services Department, plays a vital role in protecting, preserving and making accessible the historical records of our region. As a community, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the donor for this generous donation which will help strengthen the Archives’ ability to safeguard Belleville and Hastings County’s shared heritage for future generations.
