The City of Belleville is pleased to announce the signing of two new family doctors into the Belleville Family Physician Recruitment Program. Husband and wife team, Dr. Njoku and Dr. Kinze, have recently moved from the UK to Belleville with their family and are proud to become part of the Belleville community. Dr. Njoku has started his new practice as part of the Geen’s Family Medicine clinic, and Dr. Kenze will be starting her new practice before the end of Feb. 2026.
“Welcoming this talented and compassionate couple to our community is the perfect way to finish 2025. Their training and experience will bolster local health care, and many local residents will be able to start 2026 knowing they will have direct access to an experienced family physician,” said Mayor Neil Ellis. “Council is very pleased to welcome doctors Njoku and Kinze to our city, and we look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
“We are so happy to have found our new home in Canada, and we look forward to raising our family here and getting to know our patients and helping them live healthier, happier lives,” said doctors Njoku and Kinze in a joint statement.
Although healthcare and physician recruitment are not a municipal responsibility, the City of Belleville has recognized the need and implemented one of the most successful physician recruitment programs in the province, recruiting more than 60 physicians and nine nurse practitioners. The program was funded in part by the dividends the City receives as a shareholder of Elexicon Energy and to date, over $9 million has been committed to attracting primary healthcare providers.
For residents in need of a family physician or a nurse practitioner, it is important to register with Health Care Connect (HCC). HCC is a resource used by physicians and government agencies to place patients with physicians and can be relied upon by doctors and nurse practitioners when developing or expanding their roster of patients. Registering with HCC is the key to finding primary health care in Ontario. You can register with HCC by calling 1-800-445-1822 (TTY 1-800-387-5559) or by visiting the HCC website.
