Construction of the new playground at Elgin Parkette is set to begin this Wednesday.
The contract was awarded to Park N Play Design after a virtual meeting was held on May 8 where members of the public had the opportunity to provide feedback on three different playground design options. We would like to thank everyone who took part in both the public meeting and survey earlier this year. All feedback received helped guide this project and determine what would best suit the community.
Work on the playground is expected to be completed by the end of this summer, at which point the structure will be inspected before being opened to the public. Park users are asked to stay out of the fenced-in construction area during this time. As soon as the playground is safe and ready for play, fencing will be removed, and an official announcement will be made.
