Taxi/Limo Rideshare Licence

If you or your company operate taxis, limousines or rideshare (Uride) services in Belleville, you must obtain and renew a licence each year from the City.

Who Needs a Licence

All of the following must be licensed with the City of Belleville:

• Taxi drivers
• Limousine drivers
• Taxi owners
• Limousine owners
• Rideshare (Uride) drivers and owners

Licences are issued annually and must be renewed each year.

How to Apply

To begin your application:

• Email the Licensing Officer to make an appointment.
• Attend your scheduled appointment with the required documents.

Required Documents

Bring the following to your scheduled appointment when you apply:

• Valid driver’s licence
• Proof that you are eligible to work in Canada
• Criminal record check dated within the last 60 days
• Ministry of Transportation driver abstract (last 60 days)
• Two passport-quality photographs
• Completed application form(s)
• Applicable licence fee ($85 for most driver licences)

Fees and Processing

• Most driver licences require a $85 fee.
• Allow five to seven business days to receive your licence after approval.
