The city has more than 45 kilometres of trails connecting waterfront areas, parks, downtown and rural landscapes.

Urban Waterfront Trails

Belleville’s waterfront and riverfront trails provide accessible routes for walking, cycling and enjoying the Bay of Quinte and the Moira River.

Bayshore Trail

  • Length: about 2.75 km
  • Surface: paved and lit
  • Location: along the north shore of the Bay of Quinte

Features nearby marina, playground, washrooms and boat launches.

This trail is part of the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail.

Shirley Langer Trail

  • Length: about 1 km
  • Surface: paved multi-use trail
  • Location: connects to the east end of the Kiwanis Bayshore Trail.

The trail is also groomed for cross-country skiing in winter.

Parrott Riverfront Trail

  • Length: about 1.6 km
  • Surface: paved and lit
  • Location: follows the Moira River near downtown.

This trail provides convenient access to nearby shops, services and park

Riverside Trail

  • Length: about 5.25 km
  • Surface: partially paved
  • Location: runs along the Moira River through Riverside Park.

Nearby amenities include:

  • splash pad
  • sports fields
  • playgrounds
  • skate park
  • public washrooms.

Zwick's Trail

  • Length: about 3.25 km
  • Surface: paved and well-lit loop
  • Location: along the Bay of Quinte.

Nearby amenities include:

  • picnic areas
  • playgrounds
  • sports fields
  • rest areas
  • an off-leash dog park at East Zwick’s Park

Rural Trails

Rural trails around Belleville provide access to natural landscapes, farmland and forested areas outside the urban core. These trails support activities such as hiking, cycling and seasonal recreation.

  • Length: about 23.5 km
  • Surface: aggregate, firm surface
  • Location: the trail passes near Corbyville and continues north toward Stirling.

Activities include hiking, horseback riding, snowmobiling and ATV use.

  • Length: approximately 13 km total in trails
  • Surface: boardwalk and natural
  • Location: 381 and 384 Thrasher Rd.

Trails take you through wetlands and forest habitats along the Moira River.

Trail Use and Safety

Help keep trails safe and enjoyable for everyone. When using City trails:

  • Keep to the right side of the trail
  • Maintain safe speeds when cycling or skating
  • Keep dogs on a leash, except in designated off-leash areas
  • Dispose of pet waste properly.
