Upcoming Property Tax Due Date

Looking to take your swimming skills to the next level? Our aquatic leadership pathway helps prepare participants for lifeguard and instructor roles. These courses build lifesaving, first aid and leadership skills and follow standards set by the Lifesaving Society.
Important information about Aquatic Leadership course details:
Programs focus on stroke development, water safety, rescue skills and first aid. Many include timed swims and hands-on practice in the pool and classroom.
Participants must meet age and prerequisite requirements for each course. Detailed course descriptions, schedules and registration information are available through the link below.

Acquire the assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make good decisions in, on, and around the water.
Prerequisite: Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star
Strengthen and expand you lifesaving skills. Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies.
Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion, Basic First Aid (or Emergency First Aid)
Prepare to teach and evaluate the swimming strokes and related skills found in the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program. Acquire proven teaching methods, planning skills, and a variety of stroke development drills and correction techniques.
Prerequisites: Minimum 15 years and Bronze Cross
Develop the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness required by lifeguards. Learn the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes that will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments.
Prerequisites: Minimum 15 years, Bronze Cross and Intermediate First Aid (or Standard First Aid)
National Lifeguard Recertification
Recertify your National Lifeguard - Pool Award.
Prerequisite: National Lifeguard
Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AED (previously Standard First Aid and CPR ‘C’)
Previously known as Standard First Aid, this course provides comprehensive training, covering all aspects of first aid, including legal implications of first aid treatment, bleeding, spinal injuries, heat and cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, chest injuries, and medical emergencies.

Prepare to organize, plan, teach and evaluate lifesaving and first aid skills and resuscitation techniques in the Society’s lifesaving awards. Successful candidates receive the Lifesaving Instructor certification.
Prerequisite: 15 years of age and Bronze Cross
Build on the evaluation experience that candidates have attained in instructor-evaluated awards and content. Prepare and develop resources, tools, and plans to successfully conduct exams within the lifesaving and lifeguarding streams of your choice.
Develop the knowledge and resources required to organize, plan, and deliver Lifesaving Society First Aid awards.
Prerequisites: 18 years of age and Lifesaving Society Intermediate First Aid (or Standard First Aid)
Develop the knowledge, skills and tools require to effectively guide fellow staff members in the safe
delivery of aquatic programs and services, and to prepare for effective emergency response.
Prerequisite:National Lifeguard and Swim OR Lifesaving Instructor.
Provides training for Lifesaving Instructors who wish to coach lifesaving sport at the community level. The course focuses on the fundamentals of coaching and lifesaving sport skills in the pool or in open water. Lifesaving Sport Coach Level 1 coaches teach and certify all levels of the Society’s Lifesaving Sport Fundamentals program.
Prerequisite: 15 years of age and Lifesaving Instructor
