Belleville's Aquatic Lifesaving Club

Learn Lifesaving Skills. Build Confidence. Become a Leader.

Where swimming, lifesaving, leadership and fun meet.

The Belleville Lifesaving Club provides an exciting next step beyond traditional swimming lessons.

Designed for youth who want to take their aquatic skills to the next level, our Lifesaving Club provides a supportive environment where participants can develop practical lifesaving skills, improve their swimming ability, build fitness, and gain the confidence to become leaders in and around the water.

More Than Just Swimming

Each session provides opportunities to learn, practice, problem-solve, and work as a team. A typical session may include:

Swimming & Fitness

  • Develop swimming ability, endurance, strength, and confidence in the water through engaging aquatic activities and challenges.

Lifesaving Skills

  • Learn and practise the skills used to recognize aquatic emergencies, assist others, and respond safely to incidents.

Emergency Response

  • Develop an understanding of how to respond during an emergency, including communication, assessment, and activating emergency assistance.

Team Challenges

  • Work together through scenarios, games, relays, and problem-solving activities that encourage communication and cooperation.

Leadership Development

  • Build confidence and leadership skills through opportunities to take responsibility, support teammates, and participate in group activities.

A Pathway to Lifeguarding, A Pathway to Leadership

Participants can progressively develop the swimming, lifesaving, fitness, leadership, and first aid skills that support future participation in recognized lifesaving and lifeguarding programs. Become more confident, capable, and responsible as leaders around water.

Join the Team

Lifesaving Club is designed for youth who are comfortable in the water and interested in developing their aquatic skills. Participants may come from a variety of swimming backgrounds. You do not need to be an elite swimmer to participate. The completion of Swimmer 6 is highly recommended to ensure a strong foundation of swim technique.
