Check Review Periods

Once your permit application is considered complete, a plan review will be undertaken and your permit will either be issued or the reasons for its refusal will be provided in writing within the review period set out in the Ontario Building Code.

The review period begins the day after your application is considered complete. The review periods are provided in Table 1.3.1.3. of Div. C of the Ontario Building Code.

  • Residential house – 10 business days
  • Tents described in Section 3.14. of Div. B – 10 business days
  • Signs described in Section 3.15 of Div. B – 10 business days
  • Small buildings < 600m2 – 15 business days
  • Large buildings > 600m2 – 20 business days
  • Retirement homes – 20 business days
  • Complex buildings – 30 business days
  • Post-disaster buildings – 30 business days
