Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste

Household hazardous and electronic waste is not accepted in blue box recycling. Help keep hazardous or electronic items out of landfills by disposing of them free of charge at the Hazardous & Electronic Waste Depot at 75 Wallbridge Cres.

This program is operated by GFL Environmental Services and is available for residents of Belleville, Prince Edward County, Quinte West, Stirling Rawdon, Madoc Township, Center Hastings Tweed, Tyendinaga Township, and Marmora and Lake Township.

Hours of Operation (April 1 to Oct. 31)

Tuesdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Select Saturdays* 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

*Open only on the following Saturdays: April 4, April 11, April 25, June 20, July 4, July 11, July 25, Aug. 15, Aug. 22, Aug. 29, Sept. 26, Oct. 17, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31

Commercial and farm materials are accepted by appointment only.

Batteries

Household batteries are also accepted at City facilities such as the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, Operations Centre at 31 Wallbridge Cres. and City Hall. Please tape the ends (terminals) of all batteries before bringing them in. This is especially important for lithium batteries, which can pose a fire risk if their terminals come into contact with metal or other batteries.
