Bulky Item Collection
Do you have large household items that have reached the end of their life?
Furniture, appliances and other bulky items are not accepted with regular weekly garbage collection. The City offers a user-pay bulky item pickup program that operates year-round.
Scheduling a Pickup
Requests must be submitted by 3 p.m. Wednesday for pickup on Friday. Items should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. Friday.
For white goods, you may choose a pickup day between Monday and Friday. Place the item at the curb by 7 a.m. on your selected day.
Pickups can be schedule online or in-person at at the following locations during regular business hours:
- City Hall (169 Front St.)
- Operations Centre (31 Wallbridge Cres.)
Fees
White Goods $40
Stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, humidifier, barbeque, bath tub, shower stall
White Goods with Freon $50
Fridge, freezer, air conditioner, dehumidifier, water cooler
Bulky Item – Large Furniture $25
Couch, chair, desk, mattress, box spring, toilet and toilet tank, large exercise equipment
Bulky Item – Small Furniture $20
End table, TV stand, kitchen chair, bundled wood, bundled carpet
Please Note: Items placed at the curb without a scheduled pickup may result in enforcement under By-law 2006-87. Property owners may be fined.
